Happy (Belated) New Year! The Wolf Has Landed: Book 5 is Out!

First and foremost, let me take a moment to wish all of you a most amazing 2013.  I hope that all of you and your families enjoy a prosperous, safe, and happy New Year!

2012 was amazing.  I published ten books last year, which I never dreamed would happen when I first published A Curve of Claw in November of 2011.  I started off with only my beta-reader, but I finished the year with friends, readers, editors, cover designers, and a fan base that makes me grin like crazy.  Thank you for your support in 2012 and for your wonderful, amazing comments, reviews, and encouragement.

I had planned to reveal Bo’s cover on the blog ahead of the publishing date, but things got crazy over the weekend and I ran out of time.  So it’s my pleasure to let you know that the fifth book in The Wolf’s Mate series is NOW AVAILABLE on Amazon, Smashwords, and Barnes & Noble for 1.99.  That’s right, my sweet Nook peeps, I’m finally publishing directly to Nook!  *clapping wildly*  No more waiting weeks and weeks, now you can enjoy my stuff at the same time as Amazon and Smashwords folks do.  So…woohoo! (And thanks for your patience).

She’s on the run for her life …

As a child, she-wolf healer Reika Snow was promised as a mate to three were-lynxes to prevent a war between her pack and the lynx clan.  Her freedom is coming to an end as her twenty-third birthday arrives.  With her bleak future as the subjugated bride of the three males looms near, she does the only thing she can think of … she runs.  With the lynxes hot on her tail, the only thing she can do is pray she can find safety, somewhere.

He’s not going to let her get far …

Bo Elliot, highly ranked member of the Tressel wolf pack, rescues a she-wolf from the claws of three were-lynxes as they attempt to capture her.  When she awakens, he’s surprised to find himself staring into the beautiful blue eyes of his truemate.  With his bum leg, Bo doesn’t want to tie Reika down to a wounded male like himself by acknowledging that they’re mates, but he vows to set her free from the lynxes and give her back her life.  It will take every trick in Bo’s book to keep Reika from taking off on her own in a misguided attempt to spare him from getting tangled up in the hot mess of her life, but Bo will do anything for his truemate, even if it means walking away once she’s free.

This book contains a scarred wolf with a heart of gold, a she-wolf healer who wants to protect her truemate at any cost, and a wolf-on-lynx battle that will determine where Reika spends the rest of her life.  Readers should expect possessive werewolves, passionate sex, neck biting, and the kind of horniness that only the full moon can bring.

Happy Thanksgiving & New Series Teaser

To all my fans and friends in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving!  Thanksgiving is my favorite food holiday.  I just love turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie with a mile high pile of whipped cream.  I started cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family about ten years ago.  My daughter was just eight weeks old at the time and she was an early riser then, so she sat in her swing in the kitchen while I put the turkey in the oven and got everything cooking.  For two years, we lived in Sacramento, California, and it was just our little family – no visitors – and I still put on the huge meal because it made me feel connected to my family even though we were several hundred miles apart.  Now that we live in New Jersey, my family stays in Ohio and celebrates on their own, and my husband’s family joins us for the day.  I love sharing the traditions that I grew up with, and having family close enough to travel on the holidays.

The holiday just kind of crept up on me, since it’s a week earlier this year.  I was just wondering why the “Black Friday” commercials were on the TV when I looked at the calendar to find out I had very little time to get my butt in gear.  But I really don’t mind.  Staying up late all week cooking and preparing and then getting up before the sun comes up to start the meal….it’s such a sweet time for me.  A time to be thankful for all that we have – our health, our family, our friends, and coming through the hurricane safely – and to think back fondly on the family members that aren’t with us any longer.

I’m very thankful for all of you that follow the blog, send me encouraging emails and Facebook posts, and read my books.  I never imagined when I first published A Curve of Claw in 2011 that I would have fans outside of my family and my beta-reader.  Now, I can count among my friends people of all ages, from different parts of the world and even here in my home state of New Jersey, and it all started with the idea of a party-girl witch and her twin were-bear mates.

If you’ve read Michael’s story, The Wolf’s Mate Book 4, then you know that the “bad guys” – the were-hyenas Dante, Cairo and Mason – weren’t really pictured in a very good light.  But I knew that deep down, all they wanted was to find their mate, so I promised them that I’d write a story just for them, which is where the new series Hyena Heat comes in.  The debut novel will be released on Thursday, December 6th.  To celebrate the new series, I’ll be having an awesome giveaway beginning Monday, December 3rd.  I’ve got gift packs to send out, free ebooks, and gift cards galore!  I can’t wait to share the story of the hyena clan with you.  The official description is below.  Stay tuned to the blog for further updates, including my amazing cover and the giveaway details on December 3rd!!

After the Storm…

I’m happy to report that my family and I came through the storm safely.  Our full-time home was well inland of the coast of New Jersey, but we were still in the path of the hurricane once it made land.  The rain started on Sunday and continued on into Tuesday, but Monday was the worst, with winds that were steady around 60 mph with gusts up to 70 mph and very heavy rain.  We were so fortunate not to lose power at all during the storm.  Millions are without it now, and I certainly don’t take for granted that I’m sitting in my house with the lights on and the heat going.

My husband’s family lives in North Jersey along the coast, and we spent Monday night in that awful state of limbo where we wanted desperately to help them, but were not able to.  Helpless isn’t a word that you like to use during emergencies, but we certainly felt helpless as we waited for texts and phone calls from them.  Our families made it through the storm safely, which we’re very thankful for.  Although my brother-in-law’s home will need extensive repairs, and my sister-in-law is still without power, they’re in one piece and that’s what matters most.

Our shorehome was not so lucky, however, and it’s not the first time that I’ve been grateful we don’t live there full-time.  The home, which I detailed in a blog post in August, is on a lagoon just minutes from the bay, a half hour from Atlantic City and the ocean.  Our shoretown was right in the path of the hurricane.  Sunday, we did all we could to secure our belongings by stacking furniture on top of furniture, turning off the power before we left, and emptying the refrigerator.  In the end, though, our efforts didn’t matter much, as three feet of water got into the small home during the highest part of high tide.  Our roof will need to be replaced, the walls cut out and replaced from the water damage, and everything except one television was lost to the water.  But as we kept reminding ourselves during the worst of the storm…things can be replaced, but people can’t.  Three homes on our street caught fire and burned all day long, a frightening reminder that when they evacuated the town because of the hurricane, that even the first-responders weren’t able to get out to help.

Through all of it, I received so many amazing emails and comments on Goodreads, Facebook and the blog, from some fans here in NJ and PA, around the states, from Canada, and the UK.  The outpouring of support was humbling and wonderful, and I thank all of you for your kind words and prayers.  We’re now going to begin the process of getting involved with the insurance agency and then cleaning out the ruined things and then…finally…repairs.  We’re fortunate to have a friend in construction who stepped right up to say he would handle it for us, which is one less thing for us to worry about.  So thank you all again for everything, and for those of you that were in the path of Sandy or are still dealing with the effects of the storm, I wish you safety and a quick return to “normal”.  XOXO, R

Franken-Storm, Executive Decisions, and Griegs’ Teaser!

As many of you know, I live in the great state of New Jersey.  If you have been following the news of Hurricane Sandy (aka Franken-Storm), then you know that it’s supposed to make landfall in the next few days on the East Coast and cause all manner of rain, flooding, and wind damage.  Our home is located well inland, but we do have our weekend house that is in an area that has the potential to flood, which is not good.  We have the potential to lose power at our regular home next week, and since my pub date with Griegs’ story is…you guessed it….mid-next week, I’ve made the executive decision to go ahead and publish early.  The latest book in the wiccan-were-bear series will be available on Amazon and Smashwords most likely on Monday the 29th, however it’s possible it will be as late as Tuesday, the 30th, depending on publication time.  I’ll post the details and buy links when the book is live, so stay tuned to the blog for further details.

Check out my awesome new cover, courtesy of Covers by Ramona.  You can guess how difficult it is to find a cover model that fits the description of the sexy bears in my stories.  So Ramona and I opted to go a different route and focus on the heroines.  When she showed me this cover, I’m pretty sure my mouth hit the floor.  I absolutely adore it, and I think that she’s the perfect Sabrina.  Ramona is such an amazing designer, I love working with her.  And it doesn’t hurt that I get to look at a ton of incredible stock photos of hot guys and call it “research”.

When I stepped inside, the door slammed shut and I was pinned against it, off the floor, with his face in my neck.

His voice was a barely contained growl that vibrated along my body.  “You smell so good, Sabrina.”  His tongue lit fire up my neck as he blazed a trail from the crux of my shoulder to my ear, my body shuddering as my legs wrapped around him and my hands dug into his shoulders.

“Uh, th-thanks?”  I stuttered.

I felt him smile against me, and then he ground his hips into mine.  I felt the length of his erection as it pressed into the apex of my thighs.  “Oh fuck,” I groaned, tightening my legs around him.

I felt his fangs teasing my flesh, and I closed my eyes, wanting nothing more in the world than to have him sink them into me and…wait!  I shoved on his shoulders, coming back to myself for a moment.  “No, no!  Don’t bite me!”

He lifted his head slowly, his fangs peeking from his parted lips, his eyes full of disappointment.  I smoothed the back of my hand across his cheek.  “I want you, too, Griegs, I swear, but it’s different for my kind.   We don’t let people bite us for fun.”

His eye ticked.  “I wasn’t playing.”
