Tidbits about Michael & Wiccan-Were-Bear News!

I’ve never really written about some of the things that go into a story such as Michael’s, but I wanted to share a few things that those of you that have read his story might find amusing and/or interesting.  Michael’s character is patterned physically after Paul Walker.  Yummy.  His personality…well I just wanted to have some comic relief in Book 1 and he fit the bill.  Then I liked him so much, and so did many of you, that I knew he’d get his own book eventually.

**A few tidbits**

1.  Jason’s ringtone on Michael’s phone:  Ozzy Osborne’s “Bark at the Moon”.

2.  Michael’s Trailer:  Is a mixture of three different men:  My brother’s single-wide trailer when he was in college, my brother-in-law’s refrigerator the first time I went to a family gathering at his house (entirely beer, I swear!), and my brother’s best friend Rob’s home, which does indeed have a pool table for a kitchen table (and a stripper pole in the bedroom, but that’s a story for another time!)

3.  The fictional city of Corrine, where the wildlife park is, is named after my Great Aunt Corrine.  Growing up, I spent summers on her farm in Kentucky, helping to feed the chickens and the cows.  She’s the one that taught me how to make biscuits.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are sitting in her kitchen while she cooked and canned and listening to her tell stories about working in the kitchen at the local elementary school.

4.  Trav Herron, Shyne’s best friend, is the spitting image of my best friend in college, also named Travis.  I met Travis when I picked up a second job selling jewelry at a department store where he was assistant manager.  He and I hit it off right away, and became best friends.  He called me Miss Behavior and I called him Miss Demeanor.  He moved away when the store closed and we lost touch after a while, but I always think of him fondly and wanted to honor him in my own small way.

5.  Dante, Cairo and Mason – they’re not such bad guys, they’re just looking for their mate!  Don’t hate them too much, because they’re getting their own story in a new series, which I hope to have out in December along with a big holiday giveaway, so stay tuned to the blog for more details!

And now onto the Wiccan-Were-Bear News!

If you’ve read Book 4 in the WWB series, you know that book five is Griegs’ story.  I’m happy to announce that it will come out November 1st on Amazon and Smashwords for 99 cents.  I’ll post the amazing cover on October 29th, along with the official blurb and a teaser, and then in a few short days, you’ll be loving Griegs as much as I do.  I thought Griegs’ had suffered enough after his little blow up in the first book, and it was time he found his mate and got on with his life.  I love the story and I’m so excited to share it with you all.  No menage in this book, but plenty of hot were-bear-loving, and a kick-ass heroine I can’t wait for you all to meet.

Stay tuned to the blog for updates and as always, you can follow me on Twitter @rebutlerauthor or on my FB page (R.E.ButlerAuthorPage), or drop me an email or comment on the blog.  I truly love to hear from all of you.  XXOO ~R

The Wolf’s Mate Book 4:  Michael & Shyne

Michael Gerrick was beginning to wonder if he would ever find his truemate.  Fate seemed to smile on him, when he fell hard for the delectable fitness instructor, Shyne.  The only problem:  three were-hyenas want her for their clan and are willing to do anything to get him out of the way.

Shyne Jackson was smitten with Michael from the moment they met.  Swept up by his devastating good looks and sense of humor, she’s unaware of the plotting of her were-hyena bosses behind the scenes as they attempt to keep her and Michael apart.  When they cross the line, will a showdown of fur and claws destroy everything she holds dear?

This book is for mature readers only and contains a wolf looking for his mate, a woman with a dark past, neck biting, plenty of teasing, wisecracks galore, and creative use of a pool table.

I would like to thank Lisa at Editor’s Cove for her help in editing Michael’s story.  When I needed to find a new editor for Michael’s story, Lisa stepped right up to help me and I couldn’t have gotten Michael’s story completed for publication without her help.  If you’re in the market for an editor, you can find her website here, or click on the permanent link on the right of my blog, under the caption, “Services I Use”.  Thank you, Lisa, from the bottom of my heart.

Ramona Lockwood (of Covers by Ramona), the fantastic, creative amazing woman behind not only Michael’s sexy, sexy cover, but also the redone covers for the first three books, is positively amazing.  Going only on my description of the story, she found a model that captured Michael’s sexiness to perfection and gave me a drool-worthy cover.  You can find her website here if you need a book cover, or click the permanent link on the right of the blog.  I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ramona and I look forward to working with her again on future book covers.

The Wolf’s Mate 4…Cover Reveal & Teaser Treat!

I am incredibly excited to share news about the fourth book in The Wolf’s Mate series, Michael & Shyne!  I always knew I’d write a story for Michael, ever since the scene in Book 1, when he wore a French Maid outfit to serve breakfast to Cades, Jason, Linus and Bo.  But he needed just the right kind of woman to be his mate, and it was from many conversations with friends and fans that Shyne Jackson was created.

First…the cover.  Once more, Ramona of Covers By Ramona, worked her magic and came through with an incredibly sexy cover!  If you’re in need of a cover, she’s your girl!  Below is the drool-worthy cover and blurb for Michael’s story, debuting on Smashwords and Amazon on….

To whet your appetite for a little Michael-goodness, here’s one of my favorite scenes from the story:

Michael folded his arms across his chest, and his arms bulged with the motion.  She was unable to maintain eye contact with him, as her whole body heated and her heart began to beat faster.  He tipped her chin up with one finger.  “You want me to tell you the truth?”

“I want…” she managed to get out but was entirely unable to concentrate while he was touching her.

He seized her in his arms, the air whooshing out of her lungs, and she gasped a deep breath in surprise.  His mouth landed on hers, and his tongue demanded entrance.  She opened willingly, burying her fingers in his soft hair.  “Tell me you’re mine,” he growled against her mouth, his voice deeper than normal, the sound of pure pleasure.

“Yes, Michael,” she moaned as he lifted her, and she wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her to the bed.  Her back met the sheets, and he followed her down, standing on the floor as he leaned over her, still holding her body tight to his.

His lush mouth nipped across her jaw and down her neck, and he sucked her flesh into his mouth and bit down on her pulse, hard enough to bruise and make her nerve endings go haywire.  She arched up against him, grinding the apex of her thighs against the zipper of his jeans.

She ripped the shirt up his body and nicked his back with her nails as she went.  He shuddered and released her flesh, licking across the bruise and nuzzling under her ear.

I couldn’t have done Michael’s story without the influence of Kameko Gay, my longtime friend and reader.  I’d also like to thank Jacq for her advice and support and Alex G. for running my Facebook page and being so incredible.  And to my fans and friends on Twitter & Facebook…thank you for everything.

And finally, I’d like to thank Lisa at Editor’s Cove, who willingly dove head-first into Michael’s story and took her virtual red pen to my words.  She provided a thorough edit of the story for me and helped me to bring this final, amazing work to you.  She’s great to work with!  If you’re in need of an editor, you can find her here or click the permanent link to the right on my main blog page.

Michael’s book will be out in twelve short days!  All the best, R
