The Tigers Have Landed: A Twitch of Tail is Out Now!!

It’s true!  The sixth book in the Wiccan-Were-Bear series, A Twitch of Tail, which is about Melo, the sweet ‘n sexy were-tiger from A Curve of Claw, is out now!  I knew when I wrote Melo’s character in Curve that eventually I’d let the panty-tearing big guy have his own story, I just didn’t plan on it taking this long.  In this story, you get to meet a new witch to the coven, purple-eyed Wysteria “Tera” Brannick, who  – luckily for Melo – has a soft spot for were-animals.  And because I love to write menage stories, I brought in Melo’s brother, Tahlon, to liven up the mating.

I couldn’t have finished the story without the help of my two beta-readers, Jackie G. and Jacq H.  When I was struggling for weeks on what to do with Melo’s story, they listened to my rantings and encouraged me.  And I’d like to extend a special thanks to Jennifer Moorman, who edited the book for me.  I’ve long-maintained that a good editor is worth their weight in gold, and Jennifer is certainly one of those to me.  I always enjoy working with her.  If you’re in need of an editor, you can find her website here or click the link on the right side of the blog.

Final A Twitch of Tail (small version)A Twitch of Tail (Wiccan-Were-Bear #6)

Natural witch Wysteria Brannick has a great life: a job she loves at the new were-animal hospital and a place in the Wiccan coven that resides in Cleveland. But all is not right in her idyllic life, as dreams of two mystery lovers plague her nightly. When she arrives at the were-tiger king’s home to heal a young tiger, she comes face to face with the two men from her dreams.

Were-tiger brothers Melo and Tahlon Thorne have spent the last three years in different ambushes. Now that Tahlon is coming to join Melo’s ambush, they both begin to grow unsettled. It’s not until they follow a sweet scent into the tiger king’s home that they realize the unsettled feelings are because they’ve found their mate. But Melo and Tahlon’s past comes back in force and it’s not just Tera’s life that hangs in the balance.

Be prepared for plenty of growling, love bites, hot were-tiger loving, and m/f/m interaction. This novella contains scorching hot sex, two possessive were-tigers, and the witch who loves them both.

You can find A Twitch of Tail on Amazon here, Barnes and Noble here, or Smashwords here.  As always, it will follow on iBooks, Kobo, and other ebooks distributors in the next few weeks.

So what’s next?  Well…April is going to be really busy for me!  I’m guest posting on two blogs and I’m going to be giving away some Wolf’s Mate swag here on this blog as well as on the guest blogs, so stay tuned in the next few weeks for details.   And Logan’s book?  I am hopeful that it will be ready for publication around the middle of May.  Thank you all for your support and continued awesomeness.  And a special Happy Birthday *early* to Shawnnita.  XOXO, RE

Available Now: A Bead of Blood, Book 5 in the Wiccan-Were-Bear Series!

The book has landed!  A Bead of Blood, Book 5 in the WWB series is available now!  You can purchase it for 99 cents on Amazon here or Smashwords here.  As usual, it will follow on iBooks, Nook, and other eReader device sites within six to eight weeks.

A Bead of Blood (Wiccan-Were-Bear Book 5)

Vampire Sabrina Chalice has spent the last few decades righting wrongs within the vampire community as a Hunter. When she stops a vampire-run, illegal were-animal fighting ring, she finds herself head over fangs for a were-bear named Griegs.

One hot moment leads to a connection that neither anticipated, and the solitary Hunter finds herself in a bear den, surrounded by love and acceptance. As Griegs makes amends and pulls Sabrina into his furry world, she’s happier than she’s ever been in her long life.

Warning: this story contains a sexy vampire that hunts other vampires, a were-bear that needs forgiveness, tent-ruining hot sex, and hatchet-burying apologies that will melt your heart.

I couldn’t have published Griegs’ story without some amazing help.

  • Many thanks to the amazing Ramona Lockwood of Covers by Ramona, who found the incredible images for the book cover and worked her magic.  I love her covers so much, I want to write faster so I can publish more books so she can do more covers!
  • Many thanks to editor Jennifer Moorman, whose funny comments, tireless support, and grammar know-how helped me polish out the rough draft edges.
  • Sincere thanks to my reader Jacq who read through the story several times and offered extremely needed and helpful advice.

And I wouldn’t have been able to complete Griegs’ story if it weren’t for the support of my fans and friends.  The emails and comments of encouragement pushed me to get his story finished, so thank you – from the bottom of my heart – for everything.

**On a side note, I’m listening to heavy rain and light wind this morning, as we wait for Hurricane Sandy.  Schools, businesses and roads are closed all around us in NJ and PA, and our family is keeping watch for the storm that should be in our area tonight.  Thank you all for the prayers and kind words.  I’ll post again when the storm is safely away from us.

In the meantime….connect with me online!  I love emails (rebutlerauthor@gmail.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com/R.E.ButlerAuthorPage), and Twitter (@rebutlerauthor), so drop me a note or comment on the blog.  I’d love to hear from you!

Franken-Storm, Executive Decisions, and Griegs’ Teaser!

As many of you know, I live in the great state of New Jersey.  If you have been following the news of Hurricane Sandy (aka Franken-Storm), then you know that it’s supposed to make landfall in the next few days on the East Coast and cause all manner of rain, flooding, and wind damage.  Our home is located well inland, but we do have our weekend house that is in an area that has the potential to flood, which is not good.  We have the potential to lose power at our regular home next week, and since my pub date with Griegs’ story is…you guessed it….mid-next week, I’ve made the executive decision to go ahead and publish early.  The latest book in the wiccan-were-bear series will be available on Amazon and Smashwords most likely on Monday the 29th, however it’s possible it will be as late as Tuesday, the 30th, depending on publication time.  I’ll post the details and buy links when the book is live, so stay tuned to the blog for further details.

Check out my awesome new cover, courtesy of Covers by Ramona.  You can guess how difficult it is to find a cover model that fits the description of the sexy bears in my stories.  So Ramona and I opted to go a different route and focus on the heroines.  When she showed me this cover, I’m pretty sure my mouth hit the floor.  I absolutely adore it, and I think that she’s the perfect Sabrina.  Ramona is such an amazing designer, I love working with her.  And it doesn’t hurt that I get to look at a ton of incredible stock photos of hot guys and call it “research”.

And this time, I used a new editor, the very fabulous and capable Jennifer Moorman.  She stepped into the WWB world without blinking an eye and  I can’t thank her enough for her help.  I had a blast working with her and if you’re in the market for an editor, please check her out.

Here’s the official description and a never-before-seen teaser from A Bead of Blood.

A Bead of Blood (Book 5 in the Wiccan Were-Bear Series)

*Excerpt from: A Bead of Blood by R.E. Butler*

When I stepped inside, the door slammed shut and I was pinned against it, off the floor, with his face in my neck.

His voice was a barely contained growl that vibrated along my body.  “You smell so good, Sabrina.”  His tongue lit fire up my neck as he blazed a trail from the crux of my shoulder to my ear, my body shuddering as my legs wrapped around him and my hands dug into his shoulders.

“Uh, th-thanks?”  I stuttered.

I felt him smile against me, and then he ground his hips into mine.  I felt the length of his erection as it pressed into the apex of my thighs.  “Oh fuck,” I groaned, tightening my legs around him.

I felt his fangs teasing my flesh, and I closed my eyes, wanting nothing more in the world than to have him sink them into me and…wait!  I shoved on his shoulders, coming back to myself for a moment.  “No, no!  Don’t bite me!”

He lifted his head slowly, his fangs peeking from his parted lips, his eyes full of disappointment.  I smoothed the back of my hand across his cheek.  “I want you, too, Griegs, I swear, but it’s different for my kind.   We don’t let people bite us for fun.”

His eye ticked.  “I wasn’t playing.”

**Coming October 29th/30th**

Thanks so much for all of your support!  I can’t wait for you to read about Griegs & Sabrina!  XOXO, R

Tidbits about Michael & Wiccan-Were-Bear News!

I’ve never really written about some of the things that go into a story such as Michael’s, but I wanted to share a few things that those of you that have read his story might find amusing and/or interesting.  Michael’s character is patterned physically after Paul Walker.  Yummy.  His personality…well I just wanted to have some comic relief in Book 1 and he fit the bill.  Then I liked him so much, and so did many of you, that I knew he’d get his own book eventually.

**A few tidbits**

1.  Jason’s ringtone on Michael’s phone:  Ozzy Osborne’s “Bark at the Moon”.

2.  Michael’s Trailer:  Is a mixture of three different men:  My brother’s single-wide trailer when he was in college, my brother-in-law’s refrigerator the first time I went to a family gathering at his house (entirely beer, I swear!), and my brother’s best friend Rob’s home, which does indeed have a pool table for a kitchen table (and a stripper pole in the bedroom, but that’s a story for another time!)

3.  The fictional city of Corrine, where the wildlife park is, is named after my Great Aunt Corrine.  Growing up, I spent summers on her farm in Kentucky, helping to feed the chickens and the cows.  She’s the one that taught me how to make biscuits.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are sitting in her kitchen while she cooked and canned and listening to her tell stories about working in the kitchen at the local elementary school.

4.  Trav Herron, Shyne’s best friend, is the spitting image of my best friend in college, also named Travis.  I met Travis when I picked up a second job selling jewelry at a department store where he was assistant manager.  He and I hit it off right away, and became best friends.  He called me Miss Behavior and I called him Miss Demeanor.  He moved away when the store closed and we lost touch after a while, but I always think of him fondly and wanted to honor him in my own small way.

5.  Dante, Cairo and Mason – they’re not such bad guys, they’re just looking for their mate!  Don’t hate them too much, because they’re getting their own story in a new series, which I hope to have out in December along with a big holiday giveaway, so stay tuned to the blog for more details!

And now onto the Wiccan-Were-Bear News!

If you’ve read Book 4 in the WWB series, you know that book five is Griegs’ story.  I’m happy to announce that it will come out November 1st on Amazon and Smashwords for 99 cents.  I’ll post the amazing cover on October 29th, along with the official blurb and a teaser, and then in a few short days, you’ll be loving Griegs as much as I do.  I thought Griegs’ had suffered enough after his little blow up in the first book, and it was time he found his mate and got on with his life.  I love the story and I’m so excited to share it with you all.  No menage in this book, but plenty of hot were-bear-loving, and a kick-ass heroine I can’t wait for you all to meet.

Stay tuned to the blog for updates and as always, you can follow me on Twitter @rebutlerauthor or on my FB page (R.E.ButlerAuthorPage), or drop me an email or comment on the blog.  I truly love to hear from all of you.  XXOO ~R

Birthday Bash & Release Day Contest!

IT’S ALMOST HERE!  In five short days, not only will I be a year older, but I’ll be publishing the fourth in the wiccan-were-bear series and giving away a ton of prizes!  I’m just so thrilled for A Bond of Brothers (Lynk & Tavian’s) story to come out.  We’re back to the den with this book, my lovelies, as Ash and Axe’s younger brothers, Lynk and Tavian find out whether their bond is strong enough to survive sharing a spirited fairy named Shaylee.  I had a ball writing this story and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

This book, I added a new beta-reader, the sweetly inspiring Jacq.  I’m so happy to have her on-board.  It’s really important to me that the people who read my stories, especially the wiccan and wolf series that tie into each other, actually really enjoyed the books.  Jacq came to me as a fan and our collaboration was born.  It’s wonderful to have another pair of eyes on my work.  And it’s a hint to any of you out there with editing talents – don’t be afraid to approach your favorite indie author and offer yourself as a reader.  They might just say yes.  🙂

I couldn’t have finished the book without Kameko Gay, who has been by my side since Day One, supporting and encouraging me, reading and editing me, and making my fantastic covers.  All out of the graciousness of her heart.

….On to the contest….

How do you enter?  EASY!  Just comment on this blog before 10:00 a.m. EST on Friday, August 24th.  What should you comment?  I want to know whose book you’d like to see next in the wiccan series.  Griegs?  Daeton?  Shy & Teck?  Tosh?  Jes?  Melo?  (And feel free to toss in some happy birthday wishes to me, too!).  Your comment will earn you an entry in the drawing.

I’m giving away twelve prizes to celebrate my birthday and the release of Lynk & Tavian’s story and here they are!

First up?  Ebooks of Course!  Six commenters will get a free copy of A Bond of Brothers in any e-format they want, emailed right into their inboxes!

Second?  Two lucky commenters will receive a fairy pendant necklace, courtesy of Sue and her awesome etsy.com store, Art in the Round.  I picked out two of my favorite pendants, because the heroine in aBoB is a fairy!  Here are pics of the two awesome pendants, which will come with 18 inch black satin necklaces.  Sue is a talented jewelry artisan and I’m so glad she was willing to help me with my birthday/release day giveaway!

Third?  Two more lucky commenters will receive an all-natural, handmade bar of brown sugar and vanilla scented soap!  The soaps are courtesy of Sheenah Freitas and her etsy.com store, simplysweetstore.  Because the heroine is a “nature fairy”, I wanted to give away something natural, and I have this soap at home and I love it!  Sheenah is a sweetheart, very talented, and I’m glad that we were able to get together on this giveaway!

Is there more you ask?  Why, yes!

Last but not least…..:  Two commenters will receive a $25 gift card, B&N or Amazon, winner’s choice!!!!

In celebration of the eleventh anniversary of my 25th birthday (ha!) I’m going to have a big birthday bash giveaway right here on my blog.  On Friday, August 24th, I’ll not only age (gracefully, I hope) one more year, but I’ll also be releasing A Bond of Brothers, the 4th in the Wiccan-Were-Bear series.  To celebrate two such awesome things aligning in the universe, I’m going to be giving away a bunch of cool things!

So watch the blog (or better yet, follow me if you aren’t already), and be sure to comment on the Monday, August 20th post, which will kick off my birthday week, and you might win one of twelve gifts!  The contest will run the whole week, ending with winners chosen on Friday, August 24th.

To tease and tempt, because it’s just so dang much fun, here is the official blurb for A Bond of Brothers, and a first peek at my new, fantabulous cover courtesy of my fantastic beta-reader/cover designer/friend and commiserator, Kameko Gay.  This may be my fav cover, yet.  When you read the story, you’ll know just how damn perfect it truly is!

A Bond of Brothers (Book 4 in the Wiccan-Were-Bear Novella Series)

Shaylee Tannia is a banished fairy with the powers of healing and nature at her disposal.  One wintry morning, she stumbles upon an injured and dying were-bear.  Saving his life leads to a connection she didn’t expect and the love kindled between them is hot enough to melt the snow.  But all is not easy with their newfound love…a brother’s claim threatens everything.

Can she bridge the gap between them or will choosing both be the end of it all?  When a demon from her past jeopardizes all she holds dear, will the cost of her freedom be the lives of the ones she loves most?  This story contains one pissed off fairy, a were-bear that doesn’t want to share, over-protective mates, a sacrifice of blood and flesh that will melt your heart, and m/f/m interaction.

* * * * *

If you didn’t see the teaser for A Bond of Brothers at the end of Daeton’s story, it’s here for you now, because I love you all so much.  My birthday celebration kicks off on Monday, August 20th, so stay tuned!

Excerpt from A Bond of Brothers:

“Are you the angel that healed me?”  He said with a soft smile and a low voice that made the inside of my body go tingly warm.

“Angel?”

He frowned slightly, “I remember wings and feeling very warm.  I thought I was going to die but then I woke up with you in my arms.”

I smiled.  I’d never been called an angel before.  “I’m a healing fairy.  My name is Shaylee Tianna.”

His smile returned.  “I’m Lynk Stalking Horse.  Thank you for saving my life.”

“It was the strangest thing.  I was hunting and I smelled something that called to me.  I don’t really understand it, but I followed the scent and found you.  I thought you were a real bear and I was going to help you die quickly.  When I touched you, I knew you were a were and I healed you.”

He stared at me for a moment and then he pressed his head to the crux of my neck and took a deep breath.  My whole body lit up, shivers raced up and down my spine and I was speechless as my heart tried to pound out of my chest.  He moved up my neck slowly, dragging his warm lips up my sensitive skin before crossing my cheek to my mouth.

His plump lips stopped on mine and for a heartbeat I thought because he was a stranger that I shouldn’t kiss him or touch him, but the next heartbeat I wanted to do both of those things.  Months of loneliness surfaced like a raw wave of pain, the heated, delicious scent of him surrounded me, and I could no more get up from him than I could have stopped time.  Fisting my hands in his hair, I parted my mouth on a moan and he slipped his arms around me, drew me closer, and rolled me to my back.  Our tongues touched, that first gentle slide together like two creatures that were made for dark pleasure, and my body liquefied.  His hair cascaded around us like a thick blanket as I released one hand from the thick locks and ran my fingers down his back.  I traced the contours of his very naked body as he pressed on top of me, feeling the muscles tense and bunch under my exploration.

I was shirtless but still wearing my pants and boots, and when I felt his fingers at the button of my jeans, I let out an involuntary moan.  He lifted from my mouth and looked down at me.  “Do you want me to stop, Shaylee?”

A Price for a Princess, Now on Smashwords and Amazon!

Woo Hoo!

The much-anticipated third installment of the Wiccan-Were-Bear series is here!  Daeton’s story, A Price for a Princess, is available now on Smashwords and Amazon for 99 cents!  This book was one of the most difficult for me to write.  Daeton wasn’t a character that I ever anticipated writing for, but the demand for her story was really overwhelming and I was more than happy to see where her story would lead me.  Her story takes place in an entirely different realm, where the fantastic is commonplace.  Once I started writing the world for her, I couldn’t stop.  It was a lot of fun to create an entirely new world in a different realm from the one the first two stories took place in.  In this new realm, anything goes.

Check out my new AWESOME cover and the blurb:

A Price for a Princess

Sometimes you have to leave home to find your destiny…

Book 3 in the Wiccan-Were-Bear Series

On the run from a power-hungry wizard that wants her dead, Daeton Stalking Horse begins a journey that will take her far from home, to a realm she never knew existed. Believing her to be a rare and powerful were-bear, the wizard Urijah would sacrifice her, destroy his enemies and take over the land. Her guards vow to keep her safe as they travel through the strange realm on their way to the safety of a were-bear prince’s palace. Along the way, she finds love in the most unusual places with the most unexpected of men – the two from her recurring dreams. With their support, can she keep the wizard from sacrificing her and destroying the realm she’s come to think of as home, or will all be lost with one dark betrayal?

This book contains a feisty were-bear princess who hates walking and secrets, two dream men with unique genetics, and a few battles thrown in for good measure. A Price for a Princess is a book for mature audiences only and contains sexually explicit content.

Other books in the Wiccan-Were-Bear-Series:  A Curve of Claw (Book 1) and A Flash of Fang (Book 2)

You can buy it at Smashwords here and at Amazon here.

It will follow on Barnes & Noble, iBooks and other ebook distributors within 6 to 8 weeks.

I appreciate those of you that asked about Daeton, and the support in the form of emails and comments on the blog and the great reviews on Goodreads, B&N, Amazon, and iBooks keep me going.  Thank you so much!  Happy Reading!  Best, R
